The first color layer on this painting was finished a while ago. I started on the second layer but there are some problems. When I was working on the background some blue paint came over the edges of the Exota bottle. The orange paint is very transparent so it will take a lot more layers
In the post I wrote a while ago you can read why I pick certain subjects for the paintings in this series. “Hollandsche merken #4” wil be a painting of a bottle of Exota. I used to drink this a lot when I was a kid. Somewhere in the early seventies the brand disappeared because

The second step was to make detailed drawings and tranfer them to the canvas. The detailed drawings transfered to the canvas I
Recently I’m thinking about a new series of paintings. Dutch Brands. The paintings are going to be on a size of 60 x 60 cm. And as usual the subjects will be shown close-up and trimmed. All the brands have to have some things in common: • I have to remember from my youth, because
This painting has been standing in the corner of my studio for a very long time. So I decided it was time to finally finish it. It only needed another color layer and after that the details. Coke… after Coke… after Coke 2014 Oil on canvas 60 x 40 cm Available
