The 4th painting in my “Hollandsche merken” series is finished. My mother used to buy these candies when I was a little kid. As you can see the Pepermint is the only one that is still closed. The reason for this is that I didn’t liked the taste of pepermint, and I still don’t like
Commisioned portrait of two cocker spaniels, Lisa and Lotte. It was not easy to take some decent photo’s of them in the middle of a heatwave. But I managed to get a photo of both of them and combined them in one drawing. Lisa & Lotte 2018 Colored pencil on Stonehenge paper 30 x 41

The challenge in this painting was also the tinfoil and the chocolate. The tinfoil in this painting is even more like an abstract painting than in the Douwe Egberts painting. The challenge in this painting was the tinfoil. It is almost like an abstract painting, and that is new to me. A painting in eight steps Hollandsche merken #2, En dan is er koffie… Douwe Egberts koffie, lekkere koffie 2018 Oil on canvas. 60 x 60 cm Available Click here for more information and price.
It took a while and all 3 paintings in this series had their challenges. In this one it was the glass with the little smears of peanutbutter in it. A painting in eight steps Hollandsche merken #1, Calvé pindakaas. Wie is er niet groot mee geworden 2018 Oil on canvas. 60 x 60 cm Available
This months celebrity is Muhammad Ali. I picked this photo of a young Ali because of the lighting. It has a nice contrast. Charcoal, chalk and ink on colored paper.
The first color layer on the Calvé pindakaas painting is finished too! I can already see that the glass where there is no peanut butter needs to be darker but that’s something for the next layer. First the paint has to dry before I can continue.
